Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- Graduate in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in working with at least one of the following fields:
- Power Driven Electromechanical Systems or Devices
- RF Communications Systems
- Safety Critical Dynamic Devices and Systems
- For senior positions a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience is essential

Knowledge and Required Skills
- Comprehensive and practical knowledge of:
- Safety Critical Dynamic Systems, etc. for automotive and other applications
- Electromechanical Drive Mechanisms
- Design of dynamic systems
- Calculation of design parameters for dynamic systems
- FEA and Dynamic System Performance Analysis
- Use and Application of Materials
You will be required to have skills in
- Customer & Supplier liaison/interface
- Preparation of presentation materials
- Provision of Technical Support to customers and sales team
Essential Requirements:
- Ability to travel at short notice to various countries around the world,
- Knowledge of languages such as German, French, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, etc. is helpful
- Work from Home or Office options available
- Practical Knowledge of:
Excel Spreadsheet and Presentation
Power Point Presentations
Gerber file readers
3D and 2D design software such as AutoCAD, Catia V5, Solidworks, Pro-E, or similar is essential.
VSS Job Description
From the first instance you will be required to form part of a team typically dedicated to managing one particular product development (e.g. starter motor, or electronics parking brakes, etc.).
Your role will involve:
- setting up and implementing the product development approach with associated Project Plan. The Project Plan will be to define the design and required functional parameters, Bill of Material, FMECA, Costs and Delivery Deadlines. After completion of the project you will be required to support it so long as it remains active.
- working as part of a dedicated team and required to interact with other teams of relevant competences.
- liaising, from the initial stages of the project, with customers and suppliers alike to ensure compliance with customer specifications and adherence to the Project Plan.
- defining and setting up the required test and analysis parameters and verification means using predictive modelling (e.g. stress, elastic strain and fatigue life).
- choosing cost effective reliable components in accordance with the approved Bill of Material and in compliance with the specification of the project and customer requirements.
- Ensuring at all times traceability and document archiving in compliance with rigorous standards covering all data relating to the projects including the detailed project specification, product design specifications, test specifications with all modifications and revisions
- liaising with the quality and homologation engineers including those working for our manufacturing partners and customers in order to ensure optimal performance & reliability of the product.
