Qualifications and Experience

1. Graduate in one or more of the following disciplines:
1. Engineering Mathematics
2. Production Engineering
3. Structures and Materials
4. Structures and Mechanics
5. Engineering Materials
6. Modelling, Dynamics and Control
7. Applied Physics

1. Experience in working with at least one of the following fields will be an advantage:
1. Power Driven Electromechanical Systems
2. RF Communications
3. Safety Critical Devices and Dynamic Systems

1. For senior positions a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in a similar environment is essential

Knowledge and Required Skills

Practical knowledge of:

1. Safety Critical Dynamic Systems, etc. for automotive and other applications
2. Electromechanical Drive Mechanisms,
3. RF Communication Systems
4. Calculation of design parameters for dynamic systems
5. FEA and Dynamic System Performance Analysis

You will be required to have skills in

1. Customer & Supplier liaison/interface
2. Preparation of presentation materials
3. Provision of Technical Support to customers, engineering and sales personnel

Essential Requirements:

1. Ability to travel at short notice to various countries around the world,
2. Knowledge of languages such as German, French, Chinese, Hindu, Japanese, Korean, etc. is helpful

Excel Spreadsheet and Presentation
Power Point Presentations,
3D and 2D design softwares such as AutoCAD, Catia V5, Solidworks, Pro-E, etc. is also helpful

VSS Job Description

From the first instance you will be required to form part of a team typically dedicated to managing one particular product development (e.g. starter motor, or electronics parking brakes, etc.).
Your role will involve:

1. assisting in the implementation of the product development approach and associated Project Plan. The Project Plan will be to define the design and required functional parameters, Bill of Material, FMECA, Costs and Delivery Deadlines.
2. working as part of a dedicated team you will be relied on to provide advice, calculations and means of verification of the design parameters and design methods. You will also be required to interact with other teams of relevant competences.
3. liaising, from the initial stages of the project, with customers and suppliers alike to ensure compliance with customer specifications and adherence to the Project Plan.
4. defining and setting up the needed test and analysis parameters and verification means using predictive modelling.
5. ensuring at all times traceability and document archiving in compliance with rigorous standards covering all data relating to the projects including the detailed project specification, product design specifications, test specifications with all modifications and revisions
6. liaising with the quality and homologation engineers including those working for our manufacturing partners and customers in order to ensure optimal performance & reliability of the product.
